Bas Roorda's return with Young PSV from a hernia operation lasted 55 minutes. The goalkeeper dislocated a thumb in his side's 3-1 defeat at Young FC Twente and was forced to be substituted. Roorda was treated in hospital in Enschede and expects to be on the sidelines for a few more weeks.
Left thumb
35-year-old Roorda was to play the full 90 minutes with Young PSV, but he suffered a fresh injury blow ten minutes into the second half. The goalkeeper pulled off a save when an FC Twente forward struck from close range and he had his left thumb dislocated. He did not sustain a tear, but needed treatment in hospital. Roorda was at De Herdgang on Tuesday morning with a large bandage on the thumb. The experienced stopper, who had undergone surgery earlier this summer, will again be forced to work hard to recover from yet another injury. It is not known how long the latest injury will keep him Roorda out of action. The keeper himself expects to be on the sidelines for a few more weeks.
