PSV MEDIA - PSV have opted to accept the two-match suspension that the disciplinary board of the KNVB, the Dutch Football Association, has handed to Nordin Amrabat. The PSV forward was allowed to defend himself before an arbitrary committee on Thursday evening, but PSV were informed on Friday morning that his appeal had failed.
'a severe foul on a player'
Amrabat was handed a two-match suspension for 'a severe foul on a player'.The PSV summer signing allegedly committed a foul on Feyenoord player Nick Hofs, who has meanwhile made a move to Vitesse. PSV have opted to accept the verdict, so Amrabat will miss Saturday's league game against Sparta Rotterdam and the away match at AZ on Saturday, September 20 in Alkmaar. The prosecutor had handed Amrabat a three-match ban, one conditional, but the 21-year-old appealed the two-match ban proposal and was invited to come to Zeist on Thursday night to defend his case. PSV's General Manager Jan Reker also attended the hearing to assist the player. Amrabat maintained that he had no intention of injuring Hofs. 'I wanted to block the ball, but Hofs was a bit quicker. Because of the speed I had, I could not place my foot in a different position', said Amrabat. The Dutch FA Disciplinary board dismissed his appeal and handed a two-match and a conditional match to Amrabat.
