PSV are back on top of the Dutch Holland Casino Eredivisie again. Guus Hiddink was in charge as PSV coach for the 200th time during a league game and Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink scored a double on his return from injury. The Eindhoven team cruised to a comfortable 4-0 win over NAC Breda in the Eindhoven Philips Stadium on Saturday night. John de Jong also made a comeback, after having been on the sidelines for over three months.Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink has already announced before kick-off that he was anxious to go for it. He sustained a serious shoulder on 21 November last, during the Vitesse encounter and he made a comeback against NAC Breda. By scoring two super first half goals, he made sure PSV recorded an important victory. It was generally felt that the hosts would have a tough night, but PSV succeeded in coolly and professionally doing the job.Vennegoor of Hesselink broke the deadlock on 27 minutes, when he superbly tapped a DaMarcus Beasley cross from the right wing past NAC Breda keeper Davy Schollen, 1-0. Up till then PSV had been continually dominating proceedings, but NAC played a compact and well-organized defence and only played counter attacking football.Vennegoor of Hesselink doubled the advantage ten minutes after his opening goal. At first his effort on target was thwarted as a great many defenders had gathered in the goal, but he somehow managed to fire home the ball from an acute angle off keeper Schollen; 2-0. NAC were not able to get back in the game after the break. The visitors threatened a few times, but the PSV defence held on. Ji-Sung Park started the move that killed off the game twenty minutes from final time. His sharp centre from the left wing was unfortunately deviated for an own goal by NAC captain Rob Penders. A few minutes later Mark van Bommel ended the rout, when he netted his fiftieth league goal as a professional football player. The PSV captain cleverly and very unexpectedly took a trade mark free kick, while NAC keeper Schollen was still organizing his wall of defenders; 4-0.John de Jong had left the bench on 63 minutes to take the place of Phillip Cocu. The midfielder had not made an appearance since the league game at home against Ajax. Vennegoor of Hesselink was taken off nine minutes before the final whistle went to a standing ovation from the home crowd. Gerald Sibon came on to replace him.
