German referee Brych takes charge of Liverpool-PSV (PSV.nl)

Felix Brych from Germany has been appointed to referee Wednesday's Champions League tie between Liverpool and PSV at Anfield. This will be his debut in the competition having after he has taken charge of one Champions League qualifying match last year.

33-year-old Felix Brych was awarded his FIFA badge last year and was soon refereeing top flight games. The German referee has never been appointed yet to officiate at an international tournament and will take charge of a Champions League match for the second time on Wednesday. Brych's assistants on Wednesday are Volker Wezel and Mark Borsch, with Günter Perl as the fourth official. Brych has never been in charge of a PSV game. This year one of his appointments was Holland's 2-0 win over Wales at the Rotterdam Kuip on 1 June, when PSV midfielder Ibrahim Afellay came on as a substitute during the second half. Liverpool - PSV will take place at Anfield, kick off at 20:45 CET. PSV suffered a 3-0 home defeat at the hands of Atlético Madrid in their UEFA Champions League Group D opening match. Liverpool beat Olympique Marseille in the other Group D fixture on Matchday 1.
