PSV are without midfielder Ibrahim Afellay for Wednesday night's Champions League group game against Liverpool. The midfielder suffers a bruised toe and did not travel with the team to Liverpool. Huub Stevens has taken a 20-man squad to England. Two players will be dropped from the squad and watch the game from the grand stands. Liverpool FC v PSV kicks off at 20:45 CET.
Saturday
Afellay was doubtful for the game in Liverpool and it has now been confirmed he is ruled out of Wednesday's Champions League tie. The playmaker already missed Saturday's 1-0 victory over FC Volendam after he had sustained a toe injury during the game at AZ. PSV will play another Eredivisie game on Saturday when they play host to De Graafschap at the Philips Stadium. The players will train at Anfield tonight ahead of Wednesday's clash against Liverpool. PSV head coach Huub Stevens will announce his starting line-up tomorrow.
The squad in full:
Goalkeepers: Andreas Isaksson and Cássio Ramos.
Defenders: Jan Kromkamp, Carlos Salcido, Francisco 'Maza' RodrĂguez, Mike Zonneveld, Jérémie Bréchet, Erik Pieters, Eric Addo and Dirk Marcellis.
Midfielders: Timmy Simons, Edison Méndez, Jason Culina, Otman, Bakkal and Stijn Wuytens.
Forwards: Danko Lazovic, Danny Koevermans, Nordin Amrabat, Stef Nijland and Balázs Dzsudzsák.
