PSV coach Huub Stevens previewed Wednesday night's game against Liverpool at the customary pre-match press conference, attended by Dutch and English media representatives. 'We are going to make sure we play football the way we want to play', said Stevens at Anfield.
Benitez: 'PSV are not in the best form'
Stevens emphasized that Liverpool are able to adopt different styles of play. 'Tactically and technically they are a very good side. They are well-organised. We are going to make sure we play football the way we want to play. Today, each and every game is important. We realise we face a tall task when we meet Liverpool, but we will make efforts to rise to the occasion', said Stevens, who had hoped Ibrahim Afellay would have joined his team mates for the trip to England after all. The player himself had taken the decision no to have a pain-killing injection. 'We must appreciate and respect his decision', said Stevens. His colleague Rafael Benitez had announced earlier on the day that PSV are not in the best of form at the moment. 'It has been reported that they don't have much confidence. They will be well organised and they could play on the counter-attack.' Stevens refused to comment but dismissed the idea that PSV were lacking confidence.
