Yelmer Buurman finished seventh in the first Superleague Formula race at Circuit Zolder in Belgium on Sunday morning. While the conditions were very tough at a damp Zolder, the PSV racing driver started on the back row, but managed to move through the pack, passing several cars.
Second reverse grid race starts at 2pm
Buurman started on the back row, following mechanical problems on Saturday. He showed his skills on Sunday morning again in damp conditions, finishing seventh in the first race. PSV coach Huub Stevens wished him good luck on the grid before the race. A number of PSV players, including Dirk Marcellis, and members of the PSV board are in Zolder to attend the races. AC Milan's Robert Doornbos was in early trouble, after he hit the back of the championship leader under braking for turn 1 and finished last. AC Milan are suffering serious damage to the right front suspension. Liverpool FC Superleague Formula driver Adrian Valles scored his club's first series victory. Anderlecht were second and Borussia Dortmund finished third. The second reverse grid race starts at 2pm.
