Young PSV were held to a 1-1 draw by Sparta at De Herdgang training complex on Monday night. Young PSV coach Anton Janssen included senior players Maza, Otman Bakkal and Stef Nijland in his starting line-up. The visitors handed a start to first team-regulars Harald Wapenaar, Sander van Gessel, Ruud Knol and Edwin van Bueren.
Stef Nijland equaliser
After a goalless first half, Nick Viergever gave the visitors the lead. Young PSV left it late to snatch a draw, as Stef Nijland scored an equaliser two minutes from time. Young PSV have dropped to sixth place and are equal on points with Ajax and Heerenveen, who are currently fourth and fifth in the table. Young PSV will play host to FC Groningen in two weeks, on October, Monday 20. Straight after Monday night's game, Eelco Horsten, Olivier ter Horst and Stef Nijland reported for duty with the Holland Under-21 squad.
