PSV MEDIA â€'PSV may not face Atlético in Madrid after PSV's Spanish Champions League opponents have been charged by UEFA with a lack of organisation during the Olympique Marseille match, and for the improper conduct of their supporters. The UEFA has handed Atlético a stadium ban for two UEFA club competition matches.
A number of incidents
The UEFA Control and Disciplinary Body wants the club to play their next two home UEFA Champions League matches at a stadium situated at least 300km from Madrid, as a result of a number of incidents of racist abuse and crowd trouble by their supporters during their Champions League game against Olympique Marseille. The punishment could be extended to a third home match should there be further trouble at the club within five years. Atlético Madrid have the right to appeal until Friday 17 October. The incidents took place at the UEFA Champions League Group D game against Olympique de Marseille on 1 October. Atlético are charged by the UEFA with a lack of organisation during the Olympique Marseille match, which led to a number of serious problems, and for the improper conduct of their supporters. UEFA say that no provision was made for disabled supporters. Facilities for the French press were insufficient and the visiting fans were racially insulted. Monkey chants were aimed at the French club's black players, while the Marseille team bus was attacked after the match.
€ 150,000 fine
