Young PSV suffered their third defeat of the season, as Young Vitesse inflicted a 2-0 defeat on Anton Janssen's team on Monday night. Onur Kaya shone in the home side's victory, scoring two second-half goals in eight minutes' time.
PSV drop to fifth
Vitesse and PSV were well-matched in a real end-to-end affair, but the hosts finished clinically and PSV did not. The team from Arnhem played Julian Jenner, Mads Junker and Anduele Pryor in attack, while PSV handed starting places to two first-team squad members: keeper Cássio Ramos and striker Reimond Manco. Kaya put Young Vitesse ahead on the hour mark. The Belgian started the attack and coolly finished with a low shot inside the far post. And eight minutes later, he doubled Vitesse's lead with a well-struck free kick. With twenty minutes remaining, the visitors attempted to reduce the deficit, but Vitesse keeper Sebastiaan van der Sman produced a string of fine saves. Mads Junker had a goal ruled out by referee Maarten Ketting for offside. Feyenoord and leapfrog Young PSV, who dropped to fifth in the table. N.E.C are on top, with nineteen points after eight matches. Young PSV will welcome De Graafschap at De Herdgang training complex next Monday with a 6.30 pm kick off.
Young PSV line-up:
Cássio Ramos, Horsten, Heerkens, Ter Horst, Thomassen, Velda, Manco, Najah, Hutten, Ojo and Hasselbaink.
