The UEFA Appeals Body decided on Friday that Atlético Madrid must play their next home match in the UEFA Champions League against PSV on Wednesday 26 November without spectators. The match will be played in Madrid behind closed doors, after Atlético had appealed to the original three match-stadium closure with one match deferred.
PSV will meet on Saturday
The UEFA Appeal Body has reduced the initial three-match stadium closure with one match deferred, to a two-match behind closed-doors sentence, with one match deferred for a period of 2 years. The initial fine of € 150, 000 stands. The ban on Atlético Madrid's Mexican coach Javier Aguirre has been upheld, and consequently he is banned from carrying out his function for the next two UEFA club competition matches. The Spaniards must play their match against PSV on 28 November without spectators, which means PSV traveling fans are not welcome. Atlético Madrid will have ten days to appeal the decision. The PSV board of directors and representatives of the Match Organisation and Security department will meet on Saturday to discuss the new situation.
