Anderlecht won penalty and PSV had a goal disallowed
PSV did not start well and Anderlecht had some dangerous attacks. Erik Pieters committed a foul after ten minutes' play and the Belgians won a penalty on the main pitch at the main pitch at La Manga Club in Spain. Dozens of spectators, among whom the FC Twente squad, saw Guillaume Gillet step up to convert the penalty, but keeper Isaksson kept his team in the game, producing a wonderful save. After fifteen minutes PSV started their first meaningful move and they even seemed to have opened the scoring eight minutes later. Ibrahim Afellay had a shot on goal and keeper Davy Schollen pushed the ball straight to Timmy Simons who slotted home from close range. The linesman raised his flag for offside and Simons had his goal disallowed. Bakkal came close, but PSV and Anderlecht were deadlocked at half time with the score 0-0 in an evenly contested friendly match.
PSV were well organised after the break
Stevens replaced for Danko Lazovic and Nordin Amrabat for Danny Koevermans and Stijn Wuytens, respectively, at half time and PSV improved after the break. Huub Stevens' team was well organised and had some chances, with Koevermans producing a glancing header, Dzsudzsák firing on target and Afellay striking a free kick that brought a fine save from Schollen. The midfielder also started a solo run and whipped in a dangerous cross from the right, but it was not met by a team mate. Stevens substituted Maza for Dirk Marcellis. Isaksson, who put in a commanding display, pulled off a save to prevent Anderlecht from breaking the deadlock. Eight minutes from tine, the Spanish referee showed Simons the only yellow card of the game.
