Phillip Cocu will not be called up by Marco van Basten, coach of the Dutch national football team, for the friendly England-Holland in Birmingham on Wednesday 9 February.The midfielder is recovering from pneumonia and today he will undergo a medical in hospital to find out whether there are still side effects. It is feared that the paranasal sinuses have become inflamed.Cocu was in the gym this morning, after which he did a cross country run through the woods surrounding the PSV training ground De Herdgang. PSV head coach Guus Hiddink thinks that Cocu will not be available before the league clash away against AZ. Hiddink had a conversation with Marco van Basten yesterday to talk things over and the national coach intimated that he would not call up Cocu. Van Basten also briefly talked with Cocu himself.
