Olympique Lyon has joined the Superleague Formula, taking the total number of entries to 19, including PSV, from 15 countries worldwide. The second Superleague Formula season kicks off on the Magny-Cours circuit in France on June 27.
With Olympique Lyon joining the series, Superleague Formula adds to its grid another major player from international football. Olympique Lyon have won the last seven French league titles. They will fight for the title of 2009 Superleague Formula champion against, amongst other clubs, Liverpool, AC Milan, AS Roma, Atlético Madrid, Sevilla, Anderlecht, Glasgow Rangers and Borussia Dortmund.

PSV and driver Yelmer Buurman finished second in Superleague Formula's inaugural season, ahead of Robert Doornbos (AC Milan). Superleague Formula offered great entertainment in its first season. Six European countries witnessed the first six rounds and the 12 spectacular races won by 8 different clubs.

Superleague Formula's second season, which starts at Magny-Cours in June 27, will visit again six major circuits across Europe, including Circuit Park Zolder (Belgium), Monza (Italy) and Estoril (Portugal), from June - October 2009.
