The main focus on Friday was obviosuly on the official appointment of Fred Rutten as PSV's new head coach on a three-year contract. But today the attention should be on another crucial must-win game as PSV play host to Ajax at the Philips Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
'We need our fans' support'
'We have been unlucky in a number of games recently and I feel we could have won a few more games and have had four to five points more than we have now', started Dwight Lodeweges his preview of Sunday's game at his weekly press briefing at De Herdgang on Friday afternoon.' On Sunday, prestige is at stake but we also need a win in order to keep our chances of qualifying for UEFA Cup football next season alive.' Lodeweges remained tight-lipped about his game plan but admitted that he is likely to keep faith to the side that recorded a 2-0 win over FC Utrecht last time out. 'We will play our hearts out and we need our fans' support. We know what we need to do: win the game at the expense of Ajax, and in order to achieve our aim, we need the crowd behind us', concluded the head coach who will be in charge at N.E.C. next season.
PSV v Ajax is scheduled to take place at the Philips Stadium in Sunday, April 18. Kick-off is at 16:30.
