André Ooijer and Mark van Bommel may reach a career milestone on Saturday when the Netherlands take on Iceland. Both the PSV defender and the former PSV captain could make their 50th appearance for their country. Ooijer and Van Bommel have been included 41 and 43 times in the starting line-up.

Bayern Munich captain Van Bommel boasts best statistics. He has made 49 appearances for the Oranje, recording 32 victories, 12 draws and only 5 defeats. The midfielder scored 8 goals. André Ooijer, who has returned to PSV after three seasons at Blackburn Rovers, won on the winning side 28 times, drew 12 times and suffered nine defeats. The defender was included in the national team's starting line 41 times and Van Bommel was handed 43 starts. Ooijer wore the captain's armband on two occasions and scored two goals. Ooijer was handed his debut for his country in 1999 and Mark van Bommel made his first start one year later. The World Cup qualifying game against Iceland kicks off in Reykjavik on Saturday night at 20:45.
