PSV MEDIA - Orlando Engelaar was handed his first PSV shirt by club icon Willy van der Kuylen on Tuesday afternoon as he was presented as a player of PSV to the assembled journalists at a press conference, in the presence of head coach Fred Rutten. 'We are happy to have signed Orlando.'
Rutten: 'We are happy '
The midfielder links up with Fred Rutten at PSV, after Engelaar worked under Rutten while at FC Twente and Schalke 04. 'We are very happy. Everybody at PSV realises we've taken the right decision. It's important for us to have captured such an experienced player', said Rutten in the Philips Stadium on Tuesday afternoon. General manager Jan Reker also attended the press conference. 'We are delighted to have bolstered our squad with the signing of another international', explained Reker, 'Last season we were on the verge of signing him but then he opted to join Schalke. We have been luckier this time. Orlando has decided to return to Holland to boost his international career. We are ready for the challenge, and so is Orlando Engelaar.'
