At the end of their first pre-season training week, PSV made the trip to Driel to face the RKSV Driel amateurs in their first pre-season friendly. New signing Orlando Engelaar made his first appearance in PSV colours and wore the captain's armband to mark the occasion. Cássio Ramos took his place between the sticks, while Stijn Wuytens and Reimond Manco, who had returned to Eindhoven after having spent last season on loan, were also handed a start. PSV ran riot in the first period, with striker Danny Koevermans scoring four goals between the tenth and fortieth minute. Otman Bakkal also got his name on the score sheet. Half-time score: 0-5
