Rutten and Eijkelkamp took charge of the Friday morning training session at the PSV training round De Herdgang in the absence of Guus Hiddink, who is on his way to the South of France to watch the French Ligue 1 fixture AS Monaco - Olympique Lyon. The players of the PSV first team squad did the customary exercises, one day before they play hosts to N.E.C. in the Eindhoven Philips Stadium. So the forwards, among other things, intensively practised finishing on target. The first team regulars did not complete their training session, though, but decided to call it a day. The game against N.E.C. will be kicked off at 19:30 local time. The Eindhoven will face AS Monaco for a crucial UEFA Champions League clash three days later. Gomes joined the squad for training once again, after he was facing a slight knee problem earlier this week. His country fellow Alex had recovered from a touch of flu. Young-Pyo Lee was also back on the training pitch. The South Korean had been given a few days off by the technical staff, but now it was time for the left back to resume training again. The three PSV players that took part in the Barcelona benefit game on Wednesday night, Ji-Sung Park, Johann Vogel and DaMarcus Beasley – have all returned to Eindhoven safe and sound. Guus Hiddink has a busy schedule. He scouted the UEFA Cup tie sc Heerenveen - Newcastle United on Thursday night, as PSV will travel to the Abe Lenstra Stadium Saturday night week and tonight the PSV manager will be a close observer of AS Monaco in the Stade Luis II. Fred Rutten will welcome representatives of the media in the press room at De Herdgang to give his views and answer questions at the customary pre-match press briefing.
