The two goals were scored in the closing stages of this top clash.For a long time it seemed that the two teams would settle for a goalless draw until the hosts managed to break the deadlock five minutes from final time deadlock. Lyon had already been reduced to ten men, following the dismissal of Eissein by referee Garibian for a second bookable offence in the 66th minute, when Julien Rodriguez opened the scoring after all.
