The preparations that PSV are making for the crucial Champions League tie against AS Monaco are in full swing. The PSV first team squad had their final training session ahead of the game in the Eindhoven Philips Stadium this morning. John de Jong and Johann Vogel were no longer troubled by, respectively, an ankle problem and a sore back and were back on the pitch.The pitch was covered by some inches of snow early in the morning, but a stadium crew was on hand to clear the pitch of snow, so that the training session could start according to schedule. PSV manager Guus Hiddink has a fully fit squad at his disposal, as both De Jong and Vogel took part in the training session. The players did what they nearly always do before a game: finish on target and play a game of football. There was huge media interest in the final training ahead of the AS Monaco tie. Many camera crews and photographers had found a place near the touchline as well as a great many journalists.A hatful of faithful PSV fans watched the training from the stands. Guus Hiddink will organize a press conference at 13:00 and AS Monaco will do the same later on the day. . AS Monaco coach Didier Deschamps will give a detailed explanation to the press at 18:15, after which the Monegasques will train on the pitch of the Philips Stadium. Visitors are welcome, but only for some fifteen minutes. Monaco have indicated that they will have their training behind closed doors. The Philips Stadium has meanwhile been transformed according to the UEFA guidelines, so including all sponsor billboards and Champions League logos. The PSV - AS Monaco tie will be kicked off at 20:45.
