ADO coach Frans Adelaar announced at the post-match press conference that his team had slipped to defeat against the Dutch champions-to-be. Guus Hiddink, his PSV colleague, was content with the dynamic way PSV had seen off ADO den Haag."Actually the game was over before it had started, when PSV scored an early opening goal on five minutes", said Adelaar. "I am angry with the careless way my players have conceded the second and third goal. I must admit we showed too much respect and we were intimidated", explained the ADO Den Haag coach. "We wanted to approach this game in a professional way, after the European mid-week physical and mental exertions. We put up an excellent display", started Guus Hiddink his analysis of the game. "It was our plan to put ADO back on their half of the pitch and thats what we did. ADO have been doing quite well lately, also against teams that are above them in the table. We were dynamic and showed plenty of passion and drive. We took it easy in the second half. We even made a 4-0, following an excellently taken corner. I would like to pay tribute to my team, in particular for an impressive first-half performance", concluded Hiddink.
