The special SGL system will ensure a perfect condition of the Philips Stadium pitch next season again. All parties involved are very satisfied about the project. Considerably improvedThe quality of the Philips Stadium pitch has been considerably improved, thanks to the Stadium Grow Lighting system. Following an assessment, PSV and SGL have decided to continue the project next season as well. Both parties are very pleased with the results gained in the stadium. The average coverage of the pitch in the 2003-2004 season was some sixty to seventy per cent, but the pitch was covered for over ninety per cent during the past season.Very satisfied indeed"The grassroots were twelve centimetres long, which was 2.5 cm longer than last year", explains Stadium Manager Tom Ploegsma. "Due to the SGL Concept we have a pitch of which the condition is invariably perfect, 365 days a year; its incredible!"Players and coach are equally satisfied about the project. PSV head coach Guus Hiddink said in current affairs programme on Dutch TV at the beginning of May that there may very well be a connection between the great performances PSV have displayed and the quality of the pitch. AnalysisWhether the weather is good or not, the pitch is analyzed all summer. "If you want to have a great pitch 365 days a year, you must be alert 365 days a year as well", says Nico van Vuuren, project manager at SGL. "Together with PSV officials, we are constantly trying to find out what improvements can be made."More information on the SGL Concept is to be found on www.sglconcept.com
