The hosts created the best chances, but failed to break the deadlock. Robert, the Brazilian striker in the service of PSV, opened the scoring on the stroke of half time. He started the move himself and was at the end to clinically finish. The Koreans proved to be a strong side in the second half as well and Edwin Zoetebier was a busy man. PSV were able to hold on to their slender lead and eventually enjoyed a 1-0 win. Simons wore the captain’s armband in the first half; after the break substitute Vennegoor of Hesselink captained the PSV team.PSV line-up:Zoetebier, Fehér, Lamey, Addo, Ferreyra, Simons (Aisatti), Väyrynen (Alex), Dufour (Lee), Beerens (Farfán), Sibon (Vennegoor of Hesselink) and Robert.Substitutes: Coe, Alex, Lee, Farfán, Vennegoor of Hesselink, Aisatti.
