The PSV squad had a tough training session at the beautiful training ground of the Korean Football Association in Paju on Thursday that lasted for two hours and fifteen minutes. The atmospheric humidity was intensive and the sun was shining brightly, so the players had some hard times. One long training session The PSV squad was to have two training sessions on Thursday, but some changes were brought about in the schedule. So it was decided to have one long training session that lasted from about a quarter past eleven in the morning to half past one in the afternoon. After having worked hard to improve the physical condition, the squad intensively practised the passing game. Gallons of water and blue energy drink were drunk and some players did not make the end of the session, as the circumstances in Paju were extremely tough. Ibrahim Afellay trained individually and the goalkeepers Edwin Zoetebier and Ki-Seok Cha, who were given a hard time by PSV goalkeeping coach Joop Hiele, did not join their team mates for group training, either. North KoreaThe National Football Ground of the Korean Football Association is at an hours drive from the hotel in Seoul. It is very close to the border with North Korea, surrounded by wooded hills. The watchtowers, the barbed wire and, at some places, soldiers with machine guns could be clearly seen. The facilities at the training ground were excellent. As put above, the PSV squad stayed there for a while. The players had lunch, were on the treatment tables or had a rest in the afternoon. PSV will travel to Paju next Tuesday once again, when they meet Olympique Lyonnais for their Peace Cup third group game.
