PSV in South KoreaFriday, 15 JulySEOUL - In spite of the busy schedule (a morning training session, the honorary degree that Guus Hiddink received, the opening game and the preparations for the flight on Saturday) and the heat, the atmosphere today can only be described as relaxed.Today we publish part 4 of the Korea Diary A Korean reporter at the press stand of the Seoul World Cup Stadium told us that there are three top days in summer as far as heat and atmospheric humidity are concerned. And today was the first.Temperatures rose to some 35 degrees or even higher and it was very clammy. So the PSV players, who had already been subjected to a training session earlier on the day, did not exactly relish the weather circumstances during the opening game. It was not a good game, but PSV collected a win. It was Robert de Pinho de Souza who was match winner for the second time in three days. Some 55.000 spectators saw him lobb the ball over the onrushing keeper. But only few people saw how the prolific striker challenged goalkeeper Zoetebier at penalty taking, but miserably failed, earlier on the day. Zoetebier could not help singing: ‘Brasil, Brasil’! Youngsters Aissati and Beerens were given playing time again, which was a good thing. And Guus Hiddink has been granted another honorary degree. He has been an honorary professor at Korea University since this morning. It was a sober, but beautiful ceremony. The squad will leave the Hyatt Hotel in the capital on Saturday morning and take off for Gwanju, in the south of the country. PSV will meet Once Caldas at 19: 00 local time. The opponents have beaten Boca Juniors in the Copa Libertadores final. PSV will fly back to Seoul on Monday afternoon to play their final Peace Cup group game.PSV Media have travelled with the squad to South Korea. You can read a daily travel report on the official PSV website, on top of the customary reports about trainingsessions, matches and PSV squad related issues.
