Wesley Sonck has broken three ribs during the pre-season friendly against PSV last Friday night. The Belgian international player collided with Wilfred Bouma and will be sidelined for six weeks at least. Straight to hospitalSonck was taken to hospital straight after the game, where an x ray confirmed the diagnosis. The striker had been brought on as a substitute during half time, but had to be unfortunately stretchered off the pitch fifteen minutes after the restart. "He will need a two week rest and then it will take him four weeks at least to join the squad again”, explained the Borussia team doctor on the website. Wesley Sonck made a move from Ajax to Borussia Mönchengladbach January last. He has made only seven appearances for the Bundesliga side so far, as he has frequently been troubled by injuries.
