Ibrahim Afellay made an appearance with Young Holland yesterday against the side of Young Belgium. Coach Foppe de Haan guided his side to a 2-1 win. The game was played in Tessenderlo. De Haan had named seven players that showed thieir skills at the U20 World Cup last summer. One of them was the PSV midfielder, who scored a goal in the opening match of the World Cup. Afellay sustained some nasty injuries later on in the tournament.Although the Dutch dominated the game, Young Belgium took the lead just before half time. AZ striker Stein Huysegems was the player who broke the deadlock. After the break Young Holland succeeded in taking their chances. Another AZ player, Stijn Schaars, superbly curled a free kick into the roof of the net and former PSV striker Klaas Jan Huntelaar headed home the winning goal fifteen minutes from final time. Ibrahim Afellay was taken off after the break and NAC Breda forward Julian Jenner came on to replace him.
