The news had already been announced at the end of the previous season, but last night a prestigious trophy was handed to Mark van Bommel, when PSV masseur Mart van den Heuvel presented the Golden Shoe to the former PSV player. TrophiesFeyenoord striker Dirk Kuyt received the silver shoe and AZ player Landzaat was presented with the bronze shoe. Feyenoord forward Salomon Kalou was awarded the trophy for the most talented youngster on the Dutch pitches. Rinus Michels was honoured posthumously. The former coach of the Dutch national team died a few months ago, but he was awarded a prize for his complete career. Hans van Breukelen, who was goalkeeper of the Dutch team that won the Euro 1988 under the supervision of Michels, was handed the trophy by UEFA President Lennart Johansson.Below you will find a few pictures of last night’s splendid gala occasion:
