DaMarcus Beasley was one of the interested spectators at the World Cup2005 quarter final Japan and South Korea. The American international saw Korea claim a shock 5-1 win. First pitchBeasley was invited by the organization of the World Cup Baseball 2005 to watch the game in Eindhoven one day after the glorious win over Schalke 04. The Eindhoven organizational committee has done a tremendous job during the tournament. Apart from the quarter final tie, as many as twelve group games have been staged at De Heihoef sports ground. One of them was the Team USA - Puerto Rico clash. DaMarcus Beasley, who played baseball as a kid, saw the Koreans collect a surprise win over favourites Japan. It was an exciting game and the Japanese had runners on all three bases in the ninth innings. The Dutch team enjoyed an emphatic win over Puerto Rico in Haarlem and will now meet South Korea in the World Cup 2005 semi-finals. The organization in Eindhoven can call it a day. The ‘first pitch’ of the game was thrown by PSV Chairman Rob Westerhof. He said that he used to watch the Sparta games and he added that he would also see Major League games live during his stay in the USA.
