Gomes, Alex, Lamey and Afellay faced a fitness test during the final training in the Sükrü Saraçoglü Stadyumu, ahead of the second Champions League group stage game on Wednesday night. Fit enough to start?Hiddink told reporters at the press conference that four players had faced a fitness test and that it would be decided on the matchday if they were available after all. The PSV trained for some 90 minutes in the Fenerbahçe SK Stadium that is currently being renovated. Operations in the grand stand are in full swing. When work has been completed, 55, 000 fans will be welcome in the yellow-blue stadium in the Asiatic part of Istanbul. There will fifteen thousand less on Wednesday night. Some 160 PSV fans have made the trip from Eindhoven to support their team and quite a few sponsors and business relations of the club have travelled to Istanbul as well. ExercisesThe players did the exercise that they always do during the final training, such as finishing on target and some ‘piggy in the middles’ games. Alex did not join his colleagues for training, but he may be given a place in the starting line-up all the same. Hiddink announced at the press conference that decisions will not be taken until Wednesday. The squad called it a day at about seven o’ clock local time and then representatives of Dutch and Turkish were given time to ask questions. The squad subsequently withdrew to the hotel where they prepare for Wednesday night’s clash.
