The Dutch team have made sure of qualification for the World Cup 2006 in Germany by claiming a 0-2 win over the Czech Republic in Prague on Saturday night. First half goals from Rafael van der Vaart and Barry Opdam gave the Dutch team their first victory in Prague ever. Rafael van der VaartOne player in particular, Milan Baros, was a constant menace to the Dutch defence in the early stages of the first period. The striker, who made a move from Champions League winners Liverpool FC to Aston Villa and is now a team mate of former PSV defender Wilfred Bouma, won a penalty on 25 minutes, when he was felled by Khalid Boulahrouz. Goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar sensed what corner Rosicky would choose and saved the spot kick. The Dutch immediately started a counter attack and a one-two combination set up by Rafael van der Vaart and Arjen Robben was clinically finished by the HSV playmaker.Ten minutes later the game was virtually wrapped up when Barry Opdam rose high to meet a corner from the left and his glancing header sailed over goalkeeper Petr Cech into the roof of the net: 0-2. The Czechs piled up the pressure in the early stages of the second half, but they never really threatened. Ruud van Nistelrooy could have hurt the hosts even more, but eye-to-eye with Cech, the striker, who was far from his fluent best, failed to score twice. PSV striker Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink was not granted any playing time and did not leave the bench.
